Bears Freeman Suspended

LAKE FOREST - For the second time in two years Bears linebacker Jerrell Freeman has been suspended for testing positive for a banned substance.

Last year he sat out four games toward the end of the season. This second violation results in a ten game suspension. It begins immediately even though Freeman is on Injured Reserve and he is unable to play due to a pectoral injury and a concussion he suffered in the opening game this season.

Freeman issued an apology Monday. He says he had been taking pills for his head injury.
