LAKE FOREST - The Chicago Bears have signed DB Prince Amukamara to a one-year contract and have re-signed LB Christian Jones to a one-year contract.
Amukamara has appeared in 69 games with 57 starts over six seasons with the New York Giants (2011-15) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2016). He owns 310 tackles, seven interceptions, 49 pass breakups, seven tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Amukamara posted 49 tackles, six pass breakups and one tackle for a loss in 14 games (12 starts) with Jacksonville last season. His 49 tackles were the 3rd most by a Jaguars defensive back in 2016.
Amukamara has seen action in four postseason contests, tallying three tackles.
The Nebraska alum originally entered the NFL with the New York Giants as a 1st round selection (19th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Jones has appeared in 47 games with 20 starts over three seasons with the Bears (2014-16), totaling 204 tackles, two sacks, five pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and four tackles for a loss. He also added 26 tackles on special teams.
Last season, Jones tied his career high with 11 special teams tackles and tallied eight tackles and one pass breakup on defense.
Jones originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Bears out of Florida State in 2014.
