The Bears were one play away from taking this game and the division crown several times. But Aaron Rodgers and the Packers converted three fourth-down plays on their final game-winning touchdown drive. The final one was a 48 yard touchdown pass from Rodgers to Randall Cobb on a fourth and eight play where Rodgers beat a Bears' blitz.
Another key play that the Bears will point to was a fluke fumble return for a touchdown by Packers receiver Jarrett Boykins in the second quarter. Rodgers was stripped of the ball as he went back to pass by Julius Peppers. The ball shot forward leading the Bears to believe it was an incomplete pass. Boykins, at the urging of his teammates on the sideline, scooped up the ball and took it 15 yards into the endzone as the Bears looked on stunned.
Matt Forte gave the Bears a chance to win this one with a brilliant performance that included two touchdown runs and one touchdown reception. Brandon Marshall also made a fabulous catch on a five yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter that had given the Bears a 28-20 lead.
Rodgers, in his first game since being injured November 4th, completed 25 of 39 passes for 318 yards. He had two touchdown passes, and he was intercepted twice. He is now 10-3 against the Bears.
The Packers will host a first round playoff game next weekend. The Bears miss out on the playoffs for the sixth time in seven seasons.
