The Boone County Gang Task Force held it's fourth annual gang task forum. It's designed to keep the community informed on gang activity, and what's being done to crack down on it.
Officials say since they first started holding these meetings, gang activity has decreased tremendously. But they say it can't happen without help from the public, "They need to be our eyes and ears. They need to know, first of all, what to look for and then to make sure that they actually report it when they see it being done," said Michelle Courier, Boone County State's Attorney.
Courier says since 2010, gang graffiti issues have been cut in half, but points to Chicago as the reason why she believes gangs will always be part of the stateline.
