Freeport Cuts the Ribbon on New WorkForce Connection Branch

FREEPORT - The new branch in the Pretzel City will assist anyone interested in local job seekers.
FREEPORT - There's a new spot in Freeport to improve your work skills.

A new Workforce Connection branch is open in the Pretzel City. The office held an open house Thursday for anyone interested in learning about services and training available to job seekers and businesses in Stephenson County.

It's free of charge.

Employers like the concept because there's no limit to who can take advantage.

"The future belongs to those who have skills and those who have further training," says Freeport Mayor Jim Gitz. "It's a sense that learning never ceases."

Individuals who use the Workforce Connection Center might be eligible for up to $10,000 in grants for job training.

The office is set up in downtown Freeport.
