MACHESNEY PARK - Stateline teens lace up their sneakers for an on-hand lesson in life fitness.
Students from Harlem Middle School hit the oval track for 24 hour "Fit 4 Life" Walk and Run. It's part of a three day event promoting the importance of fitness in everyday life.
Organizers say it's a way to instill healthy habits at an early age.
"We just want to keep making the kids aware of how important fitness is and how much it's a priority with nutrition in their life to be healthy" says Heidi Harris.
Fit 4 Life continues later this week with Zumba and spin classes, as well as a stress reduction seminar.
