Last Day To Register For Primary Election

Tuesday is the deadline to register for the primary election that takes place March 18.  One wrinkle in this year's election is the fact 17 year olds can register if they'll be 18 by the general election.

Locally, several seats are up for grabs.

David Hale is taking on Rep. Adam Kinzinger to represent the republicans out of the 16th Congressional District.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's race features seven candidates.  On the democrats side are Bob Redmond, Randy Olsen, Bob Springer, Jeffrey Schroeder, and Glenn Heidenreich.  For the republicans, Gary Caruana and Frank Pobjecky.

On the state level, the Governor's race is a crowded one.  Gov. Pat Quinn will try to win his party's nomination against Tio Hardiman.  Meanwhile, Bill Brady, Dan Rutherford, Kirk Dillard, and Bruce Rauner are all vying for the republican nod.

You can register at your local Clerk/Recorders office by 5pm.
