MACHESNEY PARK - A stretch of Harlem Road will be fixed after a damaging winter.

Rep. John Cabello announced Thursday that $350,000 has been approved by the state to help fix Harlem Road.

"It's vital that we work to preserve our roads" says Cabello.  "Especially, after the winter we just experienced."

The project starts at the PCC/HMA joint approximately .3 miles east of Perryville Road and ends at McFarland.  The stretch of road is 1.22 miles.  Some of the proposed improvements include pavement patching, crack control, and resurfacing.

The project is expected to begin late summer.
