Police Arrest Two Men for Impersonating Police Officers

Arrests come after pair allegedly tried to pull woman over using fake police lights
ROCKFORD -- Two men who allegedly tried to pull over a woman using flashing red and blue lights in their windshield have been arrested for impersonating a police officer.

Winnebago County Sheriff's detectives began investigating when a woman reported two men in a dark colored Pontiac attempted to pull her over the night of April 30th near Mulford and Harrison.  (See link for original story).  She did not pull over, but rather pulled into a gas station and the vehicle fled the area.

The vehicle was spotted by Police Officers later and fled from them twice.

Two men have since been arrested and their vehicle impounded.  They are:

Lawrence R. Jackson Jr., 22 of Rockford
- Attempt False Personation of a Peace Officer
- False Personation of a Peace Officer
- Fleeing to elude a Peace Officer
- Violation of the Cannabis Control Act.

Earl E. Jones, 28 of Rockford
- False Personation of a Peace Officer
- Attempt False Personation of a Peace Officer
- Violation of the Cannabis Control Act.

Both men are being held in the Winnebago County Jail.
