Poll Gives Rauner Early Edge Over Quinn in Governor's Race

'Reboot Illinois/We Ask America' Poll shows 2014 Governor's race shaping up much like 2010 election did.
WTVO/WQRF -- A new poll shows the 2014 race for Governor is looking an awful lot like the 2010 campaign.  A 'Reboot Illinois/We Ask America' poll puts Republican Bruce Rauner 10 points ahead of incumbent Democrat Pat Quinn with five months to go until the election.  To see the full poll results including demographic breakdowns, click on the link below.

That's virtually the exact same position where Quinn found himself in the polls four years ago when he faced off against Republican State Senator Bill Brady, who the Governor narrowly defeated in the November election.

'We Ask America' uses an automated polling system where voters are asked to respond to pre-recorded phone calls -- a method which is considered less reliable than more traditional polling.  In the primary race, a 'We Ask America' poll taken the week before election day gave Rauner a 17 point lead.  He defeated runner-up Kirk Dillard by a little more than two points.
