ROCKFORD - Federal money is coming to the Rockford Airport.
The U.S. Dept. of Transportation granted $4.35 million to RFD. The money will be used for runway and taxiway rehabilitation. The upgrades will help increase the amount of cargo the airport can handle.
"Chicago Rockford International is one of Northern Illinois' premiere airports" says U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D). "Funding will support local, good-paying jobs and improve RFD's ability to serve northern Illinois residents and businesses safely and efficiently."
