Rockford - City Council approves the expansion of the Rockford Rescue Mission
After several month's of planning -- the Rockford Rescue Mission will be getting an expansion. Rockford City Council tonight approved the addition of 44 beds to the missions long term recovery program and 12 shelter crisis beds. This brings the total number of recovery beds from 26 to 60 -- and supporter's couldn't be more excited.
"Council has approved the addition to the Rockford Rescue Mission to consolidate its woman and children's program in the existing facility," said Jim Tuneberg, lawyer for the Rockford Rescue Mission. "It is going to be an excellent addition to the program."
Construction will start in about a year.
