ROCKFORD - A man convicted of a deadly hit and run last year has been sentenced to 9 years in prison. 32-year-old Joshua Peppers was sentenced to charges of Failure to Report an Accident Involving Death as part of a plea deal.
Peppers was arrested after a deadly accident back in September near Sandy Hollow Road and 35th Street that killed a utility worker. Clinton Siens was hit and killed by a maroon minivan which then fled the scene. Debris from the accident scene helped lead investigators to Peppers.
2013 was an especially bad year for deadly hit-and-run crashes in Rockford.
