Rockford Parolee Accused In Burglary

ROCKFORD - A man is allegedly caught in the middle of an attempted burglary.

ROCKFORD - A man is allegedly caught in the middle of an attempted burglary.

Peter Papas, 53, is charged with burglary, attempted burglary, two counts of criminal damage to property, possession of burglary tools, and resisting arrest.

Papas is accused of entering a residential garage in the 200 block of N. Gardiner Avenue.  When officers arrived on scene, Papas ran away while carrying a crow bar.  He was apprehended after a short foot chase.

Papas is currently on parole.
