Rockford Ranks High on Latest 'Safest Cities' List for Drivers

Allstate lists Forest City as state's safest when it comes to vehicle crashes.
ROCKFORD - Here's one list Rockford can be proud to be on. The Stateline has some of the safest drivers in the nation according to the insurance company Allstate.

Allstate released its tenth annual “Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report” Tuesday and finds that Rockford ranked 25th safest among America’s 200 largest cities in terms of car collision frequency. Rockford residents average more than 11 years between collisions, more than 10% below the national average. It's also an improvement of 0.7 years since Allstate began the report in 2005, when Rockford ranked 48th in the nation.

“America’s Safest Driving City” according to Allstate is Fort Collins, Colorado, where the average driver iwill experience an auto collision every 14.2 years.
