ROCKFORD - A teenager faces the prospect of spending a long time in prison.

Marquadius Turner, 19, is charged with possession of a stolen car, resisting a police officer, aggravated battery to a police officer, and aggravated intimidation.

It stems from an incident Thursday just before 2pm.  An officer was investigating a report of a stolen car in the area of N. Rockton and Garfield.  The officer spotted the car with Turner in it in the 2400 block of Benderwirt.

Noticing he had been seen, Turner got out of the car and started walking away from the officer.  The officer ordered him to stop.  Turner then threw his keys at the officer, struck him in the chest, and took off running.

A nearby detective caught Turner in the 800 block of Garfield Avenue.  Turner then allegedly threatened to kill the officer.  Turner would be considered a repeat offender if convicted.  He was already on parole from a previous conviction of possessing a stolen car.
