WTVO/WQRF - The latest unemployment numbers are in and they're not good.
According to the Illinois Dept. of Employment Security, the Rockford metro area's rate went up to 11.6%, that's up from 11% at this time last year and up from 9.9% as recently as June 2013.
The report says year to year, the area lost 300 jobs.
The Chicagoland area is doing well. It added 54,000 jobs and saw its unemployment rate drop from 8.6% to 8.2%.
