Study: Rockford Demographics Closely Resemble Those of U.S.

Wallethub.com used data to see what cities most resemble the U.S. as a whole, and Rockford scored high.
WTVO/WQRF-TV: You have to give the folk at wallethub.com credit. They find interesting ways to crunch data to reach unusual conclusions about cities in the United States.

They're latest survey raises an interesting question no one else ever thought to ask. They asked 'Which City Most Resembles the U.S.?' The answer ... Nashville, TN ... based on age, gender and income as well as more complex metrics such as household makeup and housing tenure. The least ... at #366 ... is McAllen, TX.

And where is Rockford on that list? #55, and #2 in the nation when it comes to Socio-Demographic rank. That category includes the makeup of age, gender, race, household makeup, foreign born population and percentage of the population with health insurance.

In other words, the Forest City looks alot like America in many ways.
