CHICAGO - Hollywood and politics can agree on one thing and that's raising the minimum wage.
Actor Martin Sheen joined Gov. Pat Quinn (D) to help push the state's minimum wage to at least $10/hr at St. Pius V Church in Chicago.
"Raising the minimum wage is about social justice" says Sheen. "It's about giving everyone a fair opportunity to live and grow."
Enlisting Sheen's help to push his minimum wage agenda is the latest effort by Quinn. Quinn has been aggressively promoting his idea to the public. He says a recent study shows increasing the minimum by just a $1 will add approximately $3,000 in household spending per year.
