Volunteers Celebrate Completion of Project Facelift

Project Facelift celebrating the fruits of their labor along this stretch of Lincoln Avenue.
ROCKFORD -- Volunteers are celebrating the completion of this years Project Facelift. Homes in a Rockford neighborhood are now looking a little nicer thanks to volunteers from various church organizations around the state. Renovations included repainting decks, trimming bushes and even planting flowers. Organizers are thrilled to see the community getting involved to help others.

"It's really been gratifying to see the neighborhood come together as a neighborhood," pastor of New Zion Baptist Church K. Edward Copeland said. "And everybody acknowledging the fact that we all want to live in a safe, beautiful community."

The celebration was held outside the New Zion Baptist Church -- recognizing all those involved in the project.
