Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and OSF are joining forces to decrease the number of deaths by drug overdoses in the region.
ROCKFORD- Starting next week deputies from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office will be equipped with a medicine called Narcan, and they hope it will help them save lives.
Narcan is a drug that can reverse the effects of narcotics on the body. It helps people going through a heroin overdose, and those who take too many other prescribed medications.
Police departments from other cities in the area will also be a part of the training that the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office is having on Monday and Wednesday of next week.
