ROCKFORD -- Here we go again. High winds along with bitter cold temperatures are making travel tricky in open areas. That's partly because blowing snow is making parts of many rural roads and highway snow covered and slick.
A pickup hauling a camper trailer was reportedly blown off of I-39 Wednesday afternoon, landing both in a ditch.
As the temperature drops to negative numbers overnight, our 17th below zero day this winter, and with wind chills approaching -30, police advise motorists to make sure they are equipped to deal with the cold should their vehicle crash or otherwise become disabled -- and of course just stay home if possible.
