That's what it will be known for in Sycamore going forward. The Sycamore Park District has voted to make it's one-time 90th Anniversary fireworks show last September 14th an annual tradition.
An estimated 2500 residents attended the September 14th show, and reaction was reportedly overwhelmingly positive. The park district notes that the cooler weather is perfect for watching fireworks, and an earlier sundown allows younger children to enjoy the show without staying up too late.
“We just felt it was necessary to make it clear that we heard the positive remarks from our residents, and that the park district would bring back the show again next year,” said Michelle Schulz, Park District Board Vice President in a news release.
Pulling that off will require someone to sponsor the event. NB&T picked up the cost for this year's fireworks celebration.
