GM Issues Recall

WTVO/WQRF - General Motors recalls about 370,000 trucks because of a fire risk.

WTVO/WQRF - General Motors recalls about 370,000 trucks because of a fire risk.

The affected models are: 2014 Chevy Silverados and the GMC Sierra full-size trucks.

GM says the vehicles have problems with their software that could lead to the overheating of exhaust components and cause fires.

So far, there have been eight confirmed fire incidents, but no one was hurt.

Drivers will be contacted about the recall by mail.  They can take their vehicles to dealerships for free repairs beginning next week.

In the meantime, GM urges owners of the trucks in question "to avoid leaving their trucks to idle unattended."
