The Steinway concert grand piano has been rebuilt so that concert goers can actually hear it. The problem was that the piano didn't have enough power to play with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra.
A piano rebuilder came in and ultimately gave it the gusto it needs to be heard in all of the Coronado's 2,300 seats. But the work isn't done yet.
"Well now with all the new parts in there it has all new mechanical parts, it needs to be played and broken in just like a new piano, and then reworked before the first concert on November 9th," said Bob Hohf, piano rebuilder.
It took Hohf about five months to rebuild the Steinway grand piano. It was originally in 1987.
