Just How Cold is Too Cold for School?

In Rockford, District 205 says it will call school for the day if the wind chill drops to 20 below zero. 

Officials say they'll be closely monitoring the forecast for the coming week. They tell us, the safety of the district's 29 thousand students is their greatest concern when making the decision. 

"That time frame from getting from their house to the bus stop to the school, that's where we need to look at and we want to make sure the safety of the sutdents and don't have any frost bite," said Todd Schmidt, Rockford School District 205.

Schmidt says parents can expect a decision by Sunday afternoon.
