A domestic dispute held Rockford Police at bay for more than six hours this morning, before ending peacefully.
Authorities say Junior Hinrichs, 29, had an argument with his girlfriend and a friend. That’s when he pulled a gun and barricaded himself with his stepfather in a residence at 410 South Day Street.
Six hours later, Hinrichs emerged and was taken into custody. He underwent a psychological evaluation.
Authorities say he was despondent over the loss of his mother, he was charged with illegal possession of a firearm.
