Ten tournaments over the next three years will take place throughout the rockford region -- including bowling, lacrosse and softball. Some of the RACVB's previous sporting events will return as well.
Officials say 50 new jobs will be created during these efforts. It's a great way to show off what the stateline has to offer.
President of RACVB John Groh says, "tourism is, across the country, seen as a very good and quick, clean, form of economic development and really, what better way for us to be able to grow our economy than to showcase the best of our community."
Officials say the tournaments will generate $4,000,000 in spending in the community.
