Rockford Man Found Guilty of Murder

ROCKFORD - A man is found guilty of killing a local teen.
UPDATE (12/19/13): A jury found Buckley guilty Thursday.  A status hearing is set for Jan. 8, 2014.

ROCKFORD - The murder trial for a man accused of gunning down a Rockford teen is underway.

Opening statements began in the case against 26 year-old Martell Buckley. Buckley is accused of killing 18 year-old Dwayne Buchannon at the B.P. gas station on Auburn Street in May of 2012.

Another man, Rico Jefferson, is also accused in the case. His trial is expected to begin next month. Russell Jefferson, the third man accused of murder, was cleared of all charges back in October.
