CHICAGO - The state will fight for nine counties hit by tornadoes in November after FEMA denied to give them aid.

FEMA denied to provide funds for the local municipalities trying to recover from the storm.  The counties denied are Champaign, Douglas, Grundy, Massac, Tazewell, Vermilion, Washington, Wayne, and Woodford counties.

"I'm disappointed in this decision" says Gov. Pat Quinn.  "My Administration will immediately work to develop a strong appeal that demonstrates how much this assistance is need."

Quinn says they'll file the appeal within 30 days.

So far, $10 million has been approved to help businesses and residents recover from the tornadoes.
