ILLINOIS - A joint operation into wire thefts at Stateline quarries nets two arrests.

Andrew Garkey and Cecil Sexton were taken into custody late Sunday night.  Officers pulled them over near 6900 Kilburn Road and searched their truck.  Inside, they found barbed wire, fence posts, and other items determined to have been stolen from a farm.

A search warrant was also executed Monday at Garkey's home at 6949 Kilburn Avenue.  Detectives recovered multiple stolen items and metal farm gates.

The bust was conducted by the Boone, Ogle, and Winnebago County Sheriff's Departments, as well as Belvidere police.  For the past several months, quarries in all three counties have been targeted by thieves.  Hundreds of pounds of wire and tools had been stolen.
