Study Launched To Determine Economic Impact Of State Military Bases

WTVO/WQRF - State hopes study will protect military installations during D.C. budget crunch.

WTVO/WQRF - State hopes study will protect military installations during D.C. budget crunch.

The study will calculate how military bases around the state positively affect the local economy.  Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon hopes the outcome of the study will keep those installations off the chopping block.

The 2014 Quadrennial Defense review is forcing reallocation of funds and BRAC (base realignment and closure) rounds are threatening parts of Illinois.
