DEKALB --  An Illinois man wounded overseas is given a Chevy Silverado for his service to our country.

DeKalb firemen raised enough funds to donate the vehicle to Private Charles Ligon. He was severly wounded when an IED exploded near his vehicle while on patrol in Afghanistan

Ligon was given the vehicle during the first quarter of Wednesday night's NIU football game.

He said he's amazed by the appreciation.

"I don't know what to say. I mean this is the nicest thing that anyone I don't know has ever done for me,"said Private Ligon.

Ligon said his current vehicle is in rough shape so the donation was much appreciated.
