Local Bowlers Miss The Cut

All of our Stateline bowlers will miss out on the final days of action at the Cherry Bowl.
ROCKFORD-The BPAA Women's All-Star Tournament will continue on this week without any local bowlers. During Wednesday's final qualifying session Rockford's Megan Buja slipped to 23rd with a 197.89 average. Only the top 16 bowlers made the cut for match play.

Trista Flowers of Rockford finished 39th (191.83). Sue Williams of Rockford finished 47th (186.17). Dakotah Hazlewood of Capron finished 183.72). Kimberly McGriff of Loves Park finished 65th (176.17).

The top qualifier was Diana Zavjalova of Babson Park, Florida (216.28). Jodi Woessner, Shannon Pluhowksy, Liz Johnson, Jennifer Higgins, Marcia Kloempken, Shannon O'Keefe and Danielle McEwan rounded out the top eight qualifiers.

In the Senior U.S. Open Tish Johnson was the top qualifier with a 194.94 average. Paula Vidad and Lucy Sandelin were next. Rochelle native Jan Schmidt made the cut by finishing seventh (186.67).

The Senior stepladder finals will be Thursday at 1 p.m. Match Play in the All-Star Tournament will be held at 8 a.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m.

The All-Star stepladder finals will be Friday at 11 a.m.
