Kent Introduced At Washington State

Ernie Kent says he's up for the challenge at Washington State.
ROCKFORD-Ernie Kent never lost his love of coaching basketball after he was fired at Oregon. So it's no surprise that the Rockford native is headed back to the bench. Wednesday he was introduced as the new head coach at Washington State.

"I have missed the game tremendously these last four seasons," said Kent. "When I accepted this position here the thing that drove me the most back to coaching was number one the challenge. The challenge to build another program. The challenge to do something that other people look at and say it's difficult. It's tough to do. That's the thing that motivates me."

The Cougars won only three PAC 12 games last season.

Kent was fired at Oregon despite being that school's all-time leader in wins. He spent the past four years as a television analyst for Pac 12 games.
