IceHogs Prepare for Grand Rapids

The IceHogs take on Grand Rapids this weekend ready to fill the gaps on the roster and fight for a playoff spot.
Rockford- The IceHogs took the ice Wednesday for morning practice before a big three-game weekend against Grand Rapids. The Hogs have lost a couple of key players in the past week. Left wing Jeremy Morin was called up to the Blackhawks. Following a fight in Friday’s rivalry against the Chicago Wolves, both defensemen Bobby Shea and Jared Nightingale are suspended by the AHL. Shea will miss eight games and Nightingale will sit out the next six games. Head Coach Ted Dent has a plan to fill those gaps while the IceHogs continue to fight for a playoff spot.

"By committee. Opportunity for some other players to step in and get some ice time. We've got Brisebois and Brookbank, and a few others that will chip in as well," says Ted Dent, IceHogs Head Coach.

"It's nice to know we control our own destiny. It's up to us whether we screw it up or we take advantage of the opportunity and everybody's pretty equal in games played now so it's basically anybody's game and it's up to us,” says defenseman Adam Clendening.

The IceHogs face Grand Rapids at home Friday at 7:00pm.
