Illini Come Up Short In Big Ten Tournament

The Illini just missed upsetting number one seed Michigan Friday.
INDIANAPOLIS-The Fighting Illini had Big Ten fans on the edge of their seats Friday. They nearly upset number one seed Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament. They would have had it too had Tracy Abrams last second shot gone down. Instead it came up short off the front of the rim and Michigan had a 64-63 win.

The Illini led 63-61 with ten seconds to play. But Michigan got the ball inside to Jordan Morgan for a layup with 7.9 seconds remaining for the decisive basket.

Abrams and Rayvonte Rice led the Illini with 11 points each.

The Illini are now 19-14. They'll wait for Sunday to find out what postseason tournament they'll be invited to.
