Failure To Communicate

Too many men on the ice too many times has plagued the IceHogs.
ROCKFORD-The IceHogs have several things they can work on this second half of their season. One of them is communication. Over their last 16 games the guys have been penalized for having too many men on the ice eight times. That leads to power plays for their opponents, which often leads to goals.

The IceHogs know that problem can't continue to happen.

"It's the guy coming off the ice hesitating some times, coming halfway and then going back into the play," says coach Ted Dent trying to explain how that happens. "It's the guy coming onto the ice being responsible making sure the guy coming off is really coming off."

"It's attention to detail," says captain Jared Nightingale. "It shouldn't happen. Obviously it's something that we've highlighted, and we're going to get better at it."

The Hogs will get their next chance at that Saturday evening when they play in Chicago.
