Harlem-Boylan Preview

Harlem will take on Boylan Friday in our high school football game of the week.
Rockford-After their thrilling comeback last week against Hononegah, Boylan doesn’t want to tempt fate again – the Titans needed a big comeback last year against the Huskies. While Harlem plays it off as “just another game,” the Titans know the Huskies are a team to be reckoned with.

“We try to approach every week the same. It doesn’t matter what happened in the past weeks or anything," says Harlem receiver Erik Cunningham.

“Harlem has played us closest," says Boylan coach John Cacciatore. "They’ve had us down by 20 in the past. They had us down at halftime last year. We just don’t want to get caught.”

After sharing reps in week 2, Demery Croft and Brock Stull will again alternate between quarterback and wide receiver against the Huskies. It’s a formation that should decide the outcome of the game – whether the Titans take advantage or the Huskies make the right adjustments.

“We’re all about moving forward," says Boylan quarterback/receiver Brock Stull. "We both could’ve pouted but everything is just about moving forward and doing what the team needs to win.”

“They cause problems. We just gonna have to prepare for both, and we’ll have to play sound no matter who is taking the snap," says Harlem coach Jim Morrow.

It was the Huskies who beat the Titans before they began their historic NIC-10 streak, a fact that Titans keep in the back of their mind.

“We interpret it as that the team that we’re playing is the biggest team on the schedule, the biggest team on the calendar," says Cacciatore.
