Illini To Play At Soldier Field

The Illini will play on the Bears' turf Saturday.
Champaign, Illinois-The Fighting Illini will look to run their record to 3-0 this weekend.  They'll host Washington. But this game won't be played in Champaign. The Orange and Blue Nation will head to Soldier Field for this one.

It's part of the Illini's goal to try to win over college football fans in the Windy City. Plus it's a great experience for the players.

"I think it's a phenominal opportunity for any student-athlete to go in and say they got to play a college football game in the orange and blue at Soldier Field," says head coach Tim Beckman. "I know this is one of the things that we want to continue to do as a program because it's a unique experience."

"Any time you get a chance to play in a venue like this to go up to Chicago and play just in general you know that's obviously a great opportunity," says Illini quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase.
