NIU's Bishop Dominating Inside

NIU defensive tackle Ken Bishop is turning into one of the best interior linemen in college football.
DEKALB-Jordan Lynch gets most of the attention whenever talke of NIU football comes up. But there's a guy on the Huskie defense who opposiong coaches have been raving about. He's defensive tackle Ken Bishop.

The senior out of Laderhill, Florida has 44 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and an interception. He has the skills that could give him a shot to play on Sundays next year.

"His first step is really quick," says NIU coach Rod Carey breaking down Bishops mechanics. "He uses his post hand really well, and then when he gets his other hand in there he can shed a block extremely quick."

"I just attribute it to my practice habits really," says Bishop. "Just being able to get off blocks, run to the ball and just play with that aggressive attitude."

Bishop and the Huskies have the weekend off. Their next game will be next Wednesday night against Ball State in DeKalb.
