Red Sox On Top Again

The Red Sox beat the Cardinals 6-1 Wednesday to win the World Series.
BOSTON-The Red Sox have gone from worst to first in one year. They won the World Series Wednesday by beating the Cardinals 6-1 in game six. Shane Victorino broke the game open with a bases loaded double off the green monster that drove in three runs. Stephen Drew homered. And slugger David Ortiz was walked four times by the Cardinals.

Red Sox starer John Lackey gave up one run in 6.2 innings. Cardinals rookie starter Michael Wacha suffered his first loss of the playoffs. He gave up six runs in 3.2 innings.

It's the first time since 1918 that the Red Sox clinched the World Series at home.
