Red Sox Take Game 5

The Red Sox beat the Cardinals 3-1 Monday in game 5 of the World Series.
ST. LOUIS-The Red Sox are one win away from winning their third World Series Championship in ten years. They beat the Cardinals Monday night 3-1 to take a 3 games to 2 lead in the series.

David Ortiz hat three hits, and he drove in a run for the Red Sox. David Ross broke up a 1-1 tie with an RBI double in the seventh inning. But the biggest star for the Red Sox was starting pitcher Jon Lester. He worked 7 2/3 innings. He gave up only one run on four hits. He struck out seven Cardinals. The Cards only run came on a fourth inning homer by Matt Holliday.

Game six will be played Wednesday night in Boston. John Lackey and Michael Wacha will be the starting pitchers.
