3 Drownings Claim 4 Children's Lives

WTVO - Three separate drownings over the weekend claim the lives of four kids, one of them a 3-year old from Rockford

Chicago Tribune is reporting 3-year old Liam Vaughn drowned while playing in a pool at a relative's home on Sunday. The report says Vaughn was wearing "floaties" while in the pool, but got out to eat, took them off, then went back in without them. The family lost sight of Vaughn.

He was pronounced dead at Morris Hospital that afternoon.
While in Hobart, Indiana Saturday, two Gary, Indiana brothers, 8 and 9 years old respectively, drowned in a pond known as "The Pit." It was there first time at the pond and that investigation is ongoing.

Also on Saturday, a boy in Saint Charles drowned at the Royal Fox Country Club. It is unknown if the club had lifeguards on hand. An autopsy is scheduled for today.
