WINNEBAGO – When a truck transporting anhydrous ammonia has its trailer tip over, police immediately blocked off the area.

Fortunately, it was empty; but the toxic substance can pose a danger to the public and also farmers.

The Winnebago and Boone Farm Bureau says that if you are aware of an ammonia spill or of ammonia released into the air contact your local emergency response agency, and the national response center.
