Arrest Made on Unrelated Charges After Three-Year-Old Shot in Rockford

Timothy Sikes, 24, of Rockford, arrested for an outstanding probation warrant.

ROCKFORD - A Rockford man was arrested from a home where a three-year-old was shot Thursday afternoon.

Timothy Sikes, 24, was arrested for an unrelated outstanding probation violation warrant. Police learned that Sikes was wanted while conducting a follow-up investigation into the shooting.

The man accused of shooting the child remains at large. He's described as a black male, 5'8'' tall and 170 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans at the time. A motive for the shooting is unknown, although police describe the incident as a home invasion.
