UPDATE (10:32 p.m.) - Two cars were involved in a serious crash on I-90 on Monday that left three people hurt.
Illinois State Police say two people suffered non-life threatening injuries, while one was seriously hurt. They were all transported to the hospital.
Police also say the medical helicopter that landed on the interstate was called in as a precaution, but was not used.
A serious car crash has shut down both east and westbound lanes on I-90 at Riverside Boulevard.
A medical helicopter was called, although it is not clear how many victims there are, or what their injuries may be.
All traffic is being diverted south to the State Street exit. Drivers should avoid I-90 entirely if possible.
