Car, Body Found in Rock River in Roscoe

Police say the car matches the description belonging to Emily Anderson.

ROSCOE - The family of Emily Anderson is anxiously awaiting answers after a car matching hers was found in the Rock River, with a body inside.

Winnebago County Sheriff's Police were called to the 9800 block of Fantail Place at around 5 p.m. Sunday. The car was discovered, submerged in the river behind a home. The Winnebago County Coroner and Loves Park Police both responded to the scene as well.

Investigators confirm the car matches the description of Emily Anderson's. They also confirm a body was found in the car, but say they cannot determine whether it's a male or female at this time.

Emily Anderson's family -- including her sister and father -- were on the scene as the car was pulled from the river, however, it could not be seen from the roadway. They are now waiting to learn if it could be Emily.

More details are expected to be released on Monday. We'll keep you update on the air and online.
