Car-to-Car Shooting Thursday Outside BMO Harris Bank Center

Investigation revealed a car opened fire on another car, both fled the scene.

ROCKFORD - Police are searching for suspects after a car opened fire on another car in downtown Rockford on Thursday.

Around 10 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Elm Street and S. Main Street in reference to the shots fired. An investigation revealed that an older, white Buick four-door was driving east on Elm as a newer, dark gray Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows was heading west.

As the cars passed each other, the driver of the Buick leaned out of the window and fired a shot at the Impala. Both vehicles fled the area before police arrived.

No victim were located.
