ROCKFORD -- Republican Candidate for Congress, Bobby Schilling stops in Rockford today touting his support for veterans.

Schilling argues veterans should be allowed to choose which hospital or physician they receive care from. He would also like to see veterans receive better care.Schilling said Guantanamo Bay prisoners receive better care than our veterans.

"You know a lot of the media through out the United States have painted it as this really bad place," Shilling said. "It's very clean, they've got a library, they've got a soccer field, they're able to skype with their family members, so it's pretty impressive, you know so it's definitely a nice place."

One veteran we spoke to said it took him a year to get an eye appointment.
